An examination to set up buyer discernments towards the presentation of clinical spas on the UK high-road - Literature survey Example Some consider them a position of body back rub and some name as a treatment community or skin treatment focus (Harmsworth, 2004). Monopolistic competition free essay sample

A case of a firm working in monopolistic rivalry is The Wendys Company. The market for this organization is cheap food (explicitly, burgers). This organization works in monopolistic rivalry in light of the fact that there are heaps of organizations in this market (McDonalds, Jack in the Box, Burger King, and so forth ). Each organization publicizes for all intents and purposes a similar item, however certain organizations produce an item that is marginally better than the items created by different organizations, so these organizations have a slight bit of leeway. Because of this slight bit of leeway, these organizations can sell their items at a somewhat more significant expense, and promote their items as higher caliber (Wendys ads feature that their burgers are more new than their rivals partners). The nearness of an enormous number of organizations demonstrates that there are not many boundaries for another organization to enter this market. A case of a firm working in an oligopoly is Pepsi Co. We will compose a custom exposition test on Monopolistic rivalry or then again any comparative subject explicitly for you Don't WasteYour Time Recruit WRITER Just 13.90/page This organization works in an oligopoly on the grounds that there are a couple of organizations in the sodas advertise, which shows that there are loads of hindrances for another organization to enter the market. At the point when we think about the soda pop industry, two of the names that quickly strike a chord are the Coca-Cola Co. what's more, Pepsi Co. These organizations are effective and have an overall shopper base (because of their quality in the overall soda advertise), which makes it hard for fresher organizations to enter the business and succeed. A case of an organization that works in a syndication is ESPN, the games news organization. When searching for sports news, the channel everybody goes to is ESPN. They are the main organization that has gained notoriety for being the chief channel for news on the games world. There are no different organizations that can verge on coordinating ESPNs reach or achievement, since this organization is the main organization that is exclusively committed to conveying news on sports, twenty-four hours per day. Different news channels have time sections designated for detailing significant games features, yet ESPN has water/air proof control around there since sports is their solitary center, and they report on every single diverse sort of game (ball, football, baseball, tennis, and so on ). In this way, there is a kind of outright boundary to new organizations that desire to enter the market of sports news.

The consultation of the groups should be aimed at identifying the potentials of each group, in terms of the type and amount of work they can complete within the specified duration. When the manager consults with the relevant groups he/she get a better understanding of the jobs which can be completed by the various groups and hence reduce the chances of cases of uncompleted jobs after time runs out.Another factor that necessitates consultation with relevant groups is the allocation of resources. In any firm, resources are limited and hence they must be utilized wisely. The consultation gives the manager knowledge of the resources required and the amount. This reduces chances of resource insufficiency or over allocation of resources. When the allocated resources are below the optimum level necess ary for the completion of the job, it leads to strain in the job execution or complete failure.Q2.Although the resources essential to businesses vary depending on the type of business, there are particular resources that must be available for any business to succeed. Such resources are discussed below.Financial resourcesThe heart of every business is financial stability. It is arguably one of the most important resources in any business. It concerns the ability of the company to fund its proposed plans. For instance, if the firm needs to purchase a new car, are there sufficient funds for the acquisition? Financial resources are measured in terms of the cash available at a given time and the amounts receivable over time.Human resourceThis is another resource that is required by every firm. Human resource is based on the availability of human skills necessary to complete certain jobs. Based on the nature of business and the activities that are done during the working hours, it defines the human resource requirements of the firm. This resource is greatly influenced by the availability of financial resources since it needs financing. The company identifies the skills necessary foe completions of seasonal or routine jobs, and if there doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬t exist the required skills from within its employees, it hires new human resource for the purpose. The other resource requirements are physical resources and the emotional resources. The physical resource covers the physical structures necessary at the workplace. E.g. Buildings, land space just to mention a few. On the other hand, the emotional resource is a resource that is required to give you the motivation to keep trying even when things are not going your way. In business, there are many challenges, and one may even feel like quitting. Emotional resource gives one support during such scenarios.Q. 3Sufficient resources are necessary for any successful business. Employees need resources to conduct their activities. If the required resources are not available, it leads to strain on the company. Depending on the importance of the missing resource, the company may face duration of strain or end up collapsing. A good manager should, for this reason, be able to identify the resource requirements clearly for the employees and avail them.Activity 2Operational plan is a valuable tool for the proper management of a business. One of the reasons why an operational plan is necessary is that; it clearly outlines the requirements. Since planning involves the identification of the necessary resources, a plan identifies the resources as well as where they can be obtained from. This ensures that there isnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬t resource strain as well as proper management of the resources.Another importance of an operational plan is that it identifies the most critical resources, without which the business would be impossible. This enables the manager to conduct long-term planning while avoiding the relevant risks. An op erational plan also outlines how the available resources should be allocated and utilized. This reduces chances of improper allocation of resources or misuse.Activity 3Q1.When allocating work, the important factors are time taken to complete the task and the quality of the work. The first thing to think of is, for this reason, the time available for the work. If there is a short deadline to the work, it is a good practice to allocate the work to an expert employee, probably one who has done similar tasks before. The manager should also look at the skills required to complete the work. The employee with the skills that match the job requirements should be allocated the task. Gender may also be a factor in some cases, depending upon the nature of work.Q2.When allocation works to an individual employee, you should consider the following:- * Knowledge/ skills à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ for successful completion of the tasks assigned, ensure that you assign jobs based on skills. Do not allocate an empl oyee a task that he/she has no idea about. * Time available à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ the jobs with short deadlines should be assigned to employees known to deliver quality work within a short time limits. * Clearly outline the deliverables à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ explain to the employee what you expect from the work * Offer an action plan to the employee à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ this act as a guideline on hat the employee is supposed to done. * Give the employee time to ask questions à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ respond the employeeà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s questions pertaining the job allocated. This ensures that the employee understands precisely what he/she is apparently required to do. * Ensure that the work is supervised à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ to ensure that the work goes on as needed, ensure that there is a supervisor who oversees the job progress.Q3.Project plan can be used when allocating job to a group. The project plan outlines the work requirements in the block, by specifying the resources and necessary procedures generally. If the work is to be all ocated to a group rather than individuals, project plan becomes useful.Activity 4.Q1.Code of conducts a set of regulations, which defines how a person (employee) should act in his/her profession. The rules set the acceptable principles for the employees to follow. All the employees in a given work setup are required strictly to follow the code of conducts and forfeiture of which they face disciplinary actions. The code of conduct affects the work output since the employee must conduct business limited by the rules. For instance, the employee cannot do any business that violates the code of conduct.Q2.Work outputs are usually defined by the action plan. It is, for this reason, important to cross check the workout with the action plan or project plan. The ideas in this case it to check if the work output complies with the expected output. The supervisor should check for quality of the work and timeliness. The Family And Medical Leave Act Is Family Stability

The Family Impact Principle that aligns closely with the Family and Medical Leave Act is family stability. The principle of family stability is focused on encouraging and reinforcing couple, martial, parental, and family commitment and stability. I chose this principle because I believe that the intentions of FMLA were to help with stability in families. Their purpose of the policy was to help with the balance of the workforce and family needs. I believe that they were trying their best to think of family’s commitment, but they need to dig a little deeper. The first question of Principle 2 ask does it â€Å"strengthen commitment to couple, martial, parental, and family obligations, and allocate resources to help keep the marriage or family together when this is the appropriate goal?† (Family Impact Institute, 2012). I believe that this policy is adequate because it does not allocate resources to help keep the marriage or family together. It definitely does strengthen commitment and help the family stay together by allowing the employee time off. For an example, it gives a father a chance to be them for the child’s birth and help take care of the mom. The policy understands the importance of being there for an exciting time like birth/adoption of a child. The second question asked does it it, â€Å"help families avoid problems before they become serious crises or chronic situations that erode family structure and function?† This question would be not applicable for the policy. Dracula a novel of fin Essay Example For Students

Dracula: a novel of fin Essay It is only in the latter half of the twentieth century that Dracula has begun to receive serious critical attention instead of being dismissed as lightweight sensationalist Victorian popular fiction. It has become apparent that the novel is not simply a conventional work of Gothic horror but, as with its contemporaries Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and The Picture of Dorian Gray, this revival of a genre typical of the earlier half of the nineteenth century has some significance with regard to contemporary events. Dracula is less a straightforwardly titillating story of adventure and mythical monsters than a study of the undermining of the psychic and social categories upon which the security and comfort of the Victorian middle-class world depended. This resurgence of the Gothic came at a time when the boundaries which had previously seemed so unshakeable were beginning to crumble, when the general self satisfaction and supreme confidence in the age was being eroded by troubles both at home and further afield within the Empire and thus it is hardly surprising, as David Punter observes, that the period saw a burst of symbolic energy as powerful as that of the original Gothic1. The Gothic tradition is interested in the forbidden, it seeks to explore the desires and fears that society represses in order to maintain stability, it deals with the blurring of certainties and above all with transgressions of the norm, and all of these are clearly relevant to the late Victorian crisis of faith in previously indisputable beliefs. Dracula clearly belongs to the Gothic with its continual transgression of social, psychic and realistic limits. Eve Kosovsky Sedgwick2 has identified the distinctive features of Gothic literature as follows; the setting is often a Catholic European country, and includes an oppressive ruin or castle in a wild landscape, it is likely to feature a sensitive heroine tyrannised and imprisoned by an older man intent on rape and murder, who is rescued by her impetuous lover. There is often an interest in religious institutions, sleep or deathlike states, the damaging effects of guilt, family ties, and hints of incest. The form of the novel is discontinuous and convoluted in order to emphasise the theme of the difficulties of communication. Even on superficial reading it is obvious that Dracula conforms to some extent to these guidelines, although there is a variation of convention in that it is initially Jonathan Harker who represents the trapped victim, and Mina who plays the shadowy lover present only within his consciousness, a role reversal with connotations of one of the central anxieties of both the novel and the time -that of gender. Thus as a novel set firmly in the Gothic tradition Dracula is concerned with that transgression of boundaries which was the cause of the fin de sià ¯Ã‚ ¿Ã‚ ½cle anxiety infecting England. Sally Ledger characterises the period as one when the monolithic certainties of mid-Victorian Britain3 suddenly began to be eroded. This atmosphere of doubt was reflected in the form of the novel -one-volume novels and novellas were overtaking weighty three part works, and it was becoming less and less likely that the reader would be able to rely on the security of one omniscient narrator. Admittedly this had been the case previously, notably in the story within a story told by multiple narrators of earlier Gothic fiction, but ultimately a complete explanation was usually provided. The narrative structure of Dracula is an example of the changes typical of the fin de sicle form; although the many separate narratives are prefaced by an explanatory note which seeks to underline their authenticity this lacks confidence, admitting that the story is almost at variance with the possibilities of latter day belief4 and it is difficult to have faith in a narrative made up of so many different voices, none of whom have the privilege of omniscience. .ufb1c683896c2f09c870dee1f118dc599 , .ufb1c683896c2f09c870dee1f118dc599 .postImageUrl , .ufb1c683896c2f09c870dee1f118dc599 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .ufb1c683896c2f09c870dee1f118dc599 , .ufb1c683896c2f09c870dee1f118dc599:hover , .ufb1c683896c2f09c870dee1f118dc599:visited , .ufb1c683896c2f09c870dee1f118dc599:active { border:0!important; } .ufb1c683896c2f09c870dee1f118dc599 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .ufb1c683896c2f09c870dee1f118dc599 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .ufb1c683896c2f09c870dee1f118dc599:active , .ufb1c683896c2f09c870dee1f118dc599:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .ufb1c683896c2f09c870dee1f118dc599 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .ufb1c683896c2f09c870dee1f118dc599 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .ufb1c683896c2f09c870dee1f118dc599 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .ufb1c683896c2f09c870dee1f118dc599 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .ufb1c683896c2f09c870dee1f118dc599:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .ufb1c683896c2f09c870dee1f118dc599 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .ufb1c683896c2f09c870dee1f118dc599 .ufb1c683896c2f09c870dee1f118dc599-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .ufb1c683896c2f09c870dee1f118dc599:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: An Inspector Calls - A Review EssayThe collected contents of the book purport to prove the fantastic, the existence of vampires in nineteenth century England, yet it is only Jonathan Harker at the very end of the novel who points out that the papers hardly constitute proof of so wild a story (page 378). Whilst this series of first person narratives, newspaper clippings and letters increase the proximity of the horror and bewilderment and give the story its immediacy, it also denies the reader certainty and perhaps could be said to mirror a similar prevailing mood of doubt and confusion in contemporary Britain. However, some critics have commented that the fact that the main narrators are all (with the exception of Mina) young, middle class male professionals means that they all seem to speak with one homogenous voice, and it is certainly true that Stoker fails to develop his characters or bestow any extraneous individualising traits upon them, in this vein Senf notes that  With the exception of Dr. Van Helsing, all the central characters are youthful and inexperienced -two dimensional characters whose only distinguishing characteristics are their names and their professions; and by maintaining a constancy of style throughout and emphasising the beliefs which they hold in common, Stoker further diminishes any individualising traits. This sidelining of character development can be seen as both a product of the mythical nature of the tale, as characters are less important than the basic premise of the story in such a genre, and of their importance as symbols of fin de sià ¯Ã‚ ¿Ã‚ ½cle decline. Stoker was writing at a time when gender relations were under intense scrutiny, and when many people felt that the traditional roles of men and women were being threatened, to the detriment of society as a whole. The suffragette movement and the rise of the New Woman challenged what many felt to be the almost sacred role of the The Angel in the House, as the popular poet Coventry Patmore christened the feminine ideal, and at the same time the decadent movement and dandyism, as well as the scandal of Oscar Wildes trial and conviction, focused public attention on homosexuality as undermining conventional masculinity. Therefore the similarity between the principle narrators could be seen as the future leaders of society (i.e. the young middle class professionals) bonding against a common enemy, with the Count representing homosexuality and a myriad of other sexual perversions including incest, and the female vampires the predatory voluptuous sexually liberated female. Although Dracula himself is not overtly homosexual, the hovering anxiety of the novel, articulated from the very beginning, is his initial interest in Harker himself. The Counts ultimate desire to possess and drain another male, evident in his reaction when Harker cuts himself shaving and when he finds him with his vampiric sisters  How dare you touch him, any of you?
